David’s practice is limited to family law and domestic relations. David graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of law in 2007. After receiving his J.D. from the University of Iowa, he worked as a judicial law clerk for the District Court of Iowa District 2B. As a law clerk he assisted trial court judges in Iowa with legal research, writing and preparing orders, preparing and assisting with trials, and other court-related tasks. A significant amount of David’s work included assisting the court with criminal and civil cases, including family and domestic relations law. David also spent his third year in law school as a prosecuting intern for the Johnson County Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted misdemeanors.
David joined Bray & Klockau P.L.C. in 2008. His family law and domestic relations law practice is a litigation and trial practice. David handles cases such as divorces, child custody cases, child support actions, paternity actions, adoptions, and child in need of assistance proceedings. David practices in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Iowa City, Mt. Pleasant, Muscatine, Washington, and the surrounding areas.
David is active in the state and local family law organizations. He has been a member of the American Bar Association and Iowa State Bar Association since 2007. He has been a member of the family law section of the Iowa State Bar Association since 2008.
David has made presentations to both the Johnson County and Linn County Bar Associations in addition to the Iowa State Bar Association. David is also currently teaching and developing materials for statewide presentations.
